Love this ad
I’d love to see more brands–national or regional–play around with the real world. This ad demonstrates that you can do it and still communicate a message about the product. And, it’s hilarious.
Even more, rather than tell people that Carollas are something to marvel at, Connill found a way to SHOW people.
Showing is an act of sharing something. It’s akin to holding someone’s hand and escorting them. Telling is what your parents or teachers did to you.
Therefore, if branding is the creation of a personality for your product, and assuming that people’s selection of their friends is rationally based on the others’ personality, it’s logical to derive that people will rationally pick the showers to hang out and identify with.
What types of personality do you invite into your life to befriend? The ones that tell you something, or the ones that show you something?
Americans, being who we are, like to tell, rather than show and let people feel. John Drake wrote a great blog about it here.
